Samsung A52 Camera Review
Four Camera Setup
Samsung Galaxy A52
rocks a quad-camera mount to the rear. It has a 64 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultra wide angle sensor, a 5 MP depth sensor and a 5 MP macro camera. On the front, it has a 32MP sensor for selfies.

The main sensor has a wide f/1.8 aperture but Samsung hasn't provided more information on the actual sensor used on the A52. Anyway, the main sensor now has
OIS (Optical Image Stabilization)
, which is a very good addition. But it lacks the optical zoom sensor found on the A72. Instead of the telephoto lens, it gets a 5MP macro sensor.
64MP photos, ultra-wide and normal
The 64MP sensor is a Quad-Bayer sensor that takes 16MP photos by default. And, the results are really good to be fair. Images captured in daylight have beautiful detail with good exposure and balanced colors. The colors don't seem overdone and the dynamic range is also quite wide.
Surprisingly, the 64MP also offers visible improvement in detail. But, these high-resolution images lose contrast and dynamic range.

Next, it uses a 12MP ultra-wide camera sensor, just like the A72. But, the A52's ultra-wide camera isn't as good as the A72. Images seem a bit noisier and the dynamic range isn't as wide. However, it's a very good ultra-wide sensor that has a similar color profile to the main sensor.

The distortion correction on the A52 also does a good job and doesn't affect overall photo quality, especially around the edges.
Low light performance
The A52's main sensor also performs very well in low light. I would say it is above average when it comes to low light photography.
Even without night mode, it can preserve a good amount of detail in the image and the dynamic range is good too. Sure, night shots are noisier but A52 manages to keep it on the lower side.

With night mode, the picture is brighter and noise is reduced as well. But this comes at a cost as it creates a matte paint effect, especially in the sky. And, like most smartphones, the A52 captures a cropped image in Night mode.
Also, Night mode tends to oversaturate colors. Overall, Night Mode isn't as good as I had hoped.
Portrait & Macro
In portrait mode, the A52 captures very good photos with a bokeh effect. The subject separation and background blur effect are more than enough. However, the subject's face may look a little softer in some photos.

When it comes to Macro mode, the 5MP sensor provides decent detail and it's one of the good macro sensors you'll find on a mid-range.
Selfies
A52 and A72 share the same
32MP selfie camera
. The 32MP snapper captures some really impressive photos with lots of detail and good color.

HDR also helps keep the backlight in check and overall selfies look good. If you want more detail, you can also capture photos in 32MP mode. But it loses HDR in this mode.
It can also take good portrait selfies with not-so-perfect edge detection and decent background blur.
Videos
In terms of videos, the A52 can capture up to
4k 30fps videos
from the main sensor and the ultra wide angle sensor. The main camera captures beautiful 4k video with crisp detail and decent dynamic range. Noise is pretty much non-obvious and color reproduction is nearly neutral.
The ultra-wide sensor also captures good 4k video, but it introduces some noise, which is good for an ultra-wide sensor.
< p>Moving to1080p videos
, images seem a little softer and noisier. But, 1080p videos come with OIS. Thus, OIS manages jitter and panning to capture stabilized videos. However, I noticed a noisy bulge effect in 1080p videos.
Stabilization on the A52 is good but it could be better. I don't think OIS works 100% on the A52.
Last but not the least, the 4k footage from the front camera is also admirable. 4k footage has good sharpness and a good amount of detail.
A52 brings new camera features like FUN MODE which basically gives you various filters to play with. There's the Single-Take mode that we saw on the A72 and it gets Pro mode for photos and video.
Final Thoughts
Samsung Galaxy A52 is one of the best camera smartphones in the mid-range segment.

For Rs. 41,999, this is perhaps the best camera phone with OIS compatible videos. Although the availability of OIS is one of its main selling points, the overall image quality of the Samsung A52 is very impressive.
Not just the main sensor, but it actually has a good ultra-wide-angle camera. On top of that, it has a 5MP macro sensor while other phones only include a 2MP macro sensor in this price range.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A52 has one of the best camera setups for the price. p>
