What to like: Super fast SSD hard drive (boot up takes less than 30 seconds and fast program loading) - Wi-Fi switch for those connected to a pay-per-view data plan or security conscious/hackers computers. (Turn WiFi off when not using the internet) - Audio up/down buttons and a mute button right on the keyboard! (Great if you need to take a phone call)- Two keys for adjusting brightness and dimming (if that works for you)- Caps lock light is right on the caps lock key! - Rugged construction (ideal for those who are rough with their laptop)- The priceWhat's not to like:- This laptop was manufactured in 2011, so it's already 7 years old (as of 2018)- The very small 128GB hard drive only has 90GB free when you receive it- This laptop is about 6 Kg. It's heavy enough for daily carry- It's refurbished- Price fluctuates often (use a third party to follow the price) What's missing: - No modem - No camera or microphone - No fingerprint reader - No backlit keyboard - No Blu-Ray - No touchscreenMine comes with :- 8 GB of DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM- Intel Core i5-2520M, 2.50 GHz, with 3 MB cache 2.5 Ghz (Dual Core)- 128GB SSD hard drive (you'll love the speed of this drive!)- Intel HD Graphics 3000 card with a maximum resolution of 1336x768 (this will not display HD movies with a maximum resolution of 1080p)- Screen 14.0" anti-glare LED backlit - WiFi 802.11a/g/n 2X2 (it can send and receive over two antennas at once) - Bluetooth - Touchpad with 2 buttons as well as a pointing device (it's i.e. TrackStick) with 3 buttons- 8X DVD player- 6-cell lithium-ion battery (60WH)- 65W AC adapter (~7ft long)Ports:- HDMI out port (ideal for adding a second monitor or playback DVDs to a big screen TV) - VGA out port (for very old analog displays and TV connections) - Headphone jack (most people will probably use Bluetooth) - RJ45 Internet port (If you prefer a wired connection to the Internet )- Docking Port (For use with Dell PR03X Port Replicator Docking Station)- 3 U Ports SB 2: 1 left and 2 right (There are no USB 3 ports)- Express card slot (Not compatible with PCMCIA, but you can use it to add USB 3 ports)- Slot for SD card (supports SD, SDHC and SDXC)- SmartCard reader (This is for business/computer use - most people will never use it) OS & software:- Windows 10 Pro for refurbished computers- Trial Free Office 365 ($99.99 per year or $9.99 per month if you want to keep it.)- VLC Media Player- Acrobat Reader DCProblems I've encountered since day 1:- SD port doesn't did not recognize my SD cards. I ended up having to download the drivers from Dell. (Big headache) - Power adapter transformation sometimes makes an annoying ticking noise - Fn key when used with up and down arrows does not brighten or dim the screen - The Fn key when used with Num Lock (F2) does not cause it to engage the Num Lock section of the keyboard
