Before you start
Some apps may not be available depending on your country/region and camera.
PlayMemoriesTM camera applications can be downloaded and installed using the
recommended operating systems and browsers.
The software may not install or work if the recommended operating systems or browsers are not installed.
During installation, make sure you are logged in as an administrator or as a user with administrative rights.
Before beginning the installation process, temporarily disable any running anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
There are free and paid apps. When purchasing an application, payment will be made through the
Wallet
logged in to your Sony Entertainment NetworkTM account.
The procedures for free and paid apps differ. Proceed according to the type of application selected.
Download and install apps
Select the application from the PlayMemories Camera Apps website.
Open the
PlayMemories Camera Apps
website and select the camera you are using.
Click
Country/Region
and language in the upper right corner of the page.
Select the
Country/Region
and language.
Note: p>
PlayMemories camera apps cannot be downloaded and installed from countries and regions other than those listed on the page.
Select the camera you are using:
Beside

ALL all apps
to view camera models.
Select your camera to view the downloadable app.
Remarks:
Available apps vary by camera model.
If you click on
Simple 4-step installation guide
, you can follow the guide to perform operations such as creating an account, changing the settings of the download tool and installing applications.
Click on the app you want to download and the app details page will open.
On the app details page, click
< p>Install(if the application is free) or
Proceed to purchase
(if the application is paid).
Remarks:
Check that the camera you are using is displayed under
Compatible cameras.

Enter the
Login ID
and the
Password
from your Sony Entertainment Network account, then click
Login
.
For the paid application, click on

after confirming the terms and conditions of the application. When you select the free app, proceed to the next step.
Install the application downloader tool on the computer.
If you are downloading the app for the first time, you need to install the app download tool. Install it following the on-screen guide.
Remark:
You will not need to perform this process again after the first time.
Once the installation is complete. is complete, click the button
Reload and continue
.
Install the app on the camera.
Connect your camera to the computer and check the connection.
Turn on the camera.
Connect the camera to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
Remarks:
When the displayed screen is displayed on the camera, press the button
okay
to close the screen, then go to the next step.
Use the USB cable that came with your camera. If you use a USB cable from another manufacturer, correct operation cannot be guaranteed because the connection check may fail.
Connect the camera and computer directly via the USB terminal without using a USB hub. If you use a USB hub when connecting the camera to a computer, the computer may not recognize the camera.

is displayed, the connection is being prepared and has not yet been recognized by the computer. Wait for it to be connected.

appears, download and install the firmware update.
Downloads are posted on your model's support page.
When you choose to download the paid app, proceed to purchase. When you choose to download the free app, the download begins.
Check the purchased amount and click
I accept. Confirm purchase
. Payment will be made through the

logged into your Sony Entertainment Network account.
Once the payment is complete, a payment completion screen will appear. To continue and install the app on the camera, click

The download will start.
When the download is complete, installation follows.
When the installation is complete and a message appears, click

to leave.
Disconnect the camera from the computer and check if the installation is complete.
