Charging the battery while inserted in the camera
When using the camera for the first time, be sure to charge the battery. The charged battery will gradually discharge even if you do not use it. To avoid missing a shooting opportunity, charge the battery before shooting.
Turn off the device.
Connect the camera with the battery inserted to the AC adapter (supplied) using the micro USB cable (supplied) and connect the AC adapter to the wall outlet (wall socket).
For customers in the United States and Canada
For customers in countries/regions other than the United States and Canada

On: Charging Off: Charging completed Flashing: Charging error or charging temporarily interrupted because the camera is not in the proper temperature range
< p>If the charging light comes on once and then goes off immediately, the battery is fully charged.Charging time (Full charge)
The charging time is about 230 min. using the AC adapter (supplied).
Charging time may vary depending on remaining battery capacity or charging conditions.
The battery can be charged even when it is not completely discharged.
The above charging time applies when charging a fully discharged battery (supplied) at a temperature of 25°C (77°F). Charging may take longer depending on usage conditions and environment.
Remark
If the charging light flashes when the battery is not fully charged, remove the battery or disconnect the USB Cable from the camera, then reinsert it to recharge.
If the camera's charging light flashes when the AC adapter is connected to the wall outlet (wall outlet), this indicates that charging is temporarily stopped because the temperature is outside the recommended range. When the temperature returns to the appropriate range, charging resumes. We recommend charging the battery at an ambient temperature between 10°C and 30°C (50oF to 86oF).
Connect the AC adapter to the nearest wall outlet (wall outlet). If any malfunctions occur when using the AC adapter, immediately unplug the plug from the wall outlet (wall socket) to disconnect from the power source.
When using a completely new battery or a battery that has not been used for a long time, the charging indicator may flash quickly when the battery is charged for the first time. If this happens, remove the battery or disconnect the USB cable from the camera, then reinsert it to charge it.
Do not continuously or repeatedly charge the battery without using it if it is already fully charged or nearly fully charged. This could cause the battery performance to deteriorate.
When charging is complete, unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet (wall outlet).
Be sure to use only genuine Sony brand. batteries, micro USB cables (included) and AC adapters (included).
